About the Author
Dr. Nefretiti Morant is a developmental psychologist, elementary educator, Christian author, community architect, and speaker whose journey is a testament to the power of faith, discipline, and relentless purpose. Born in the United Kingdom to Barbadian parents, Dr. Morant grew up in Queens, New York, where her love for the written word took root early. She earned her bachelor's in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and her doctorate from Walden University — training that deeply informs both her teaching and her storytelling.
Before entering the classroom, Dr. Morant spent a decade as a caseworker for New York City's Department of Social Services, where she witnessed firsthand the transformative power of hope and resilience. That experience became the heartbeat of her writing. Since making her literary debut in 2012 as a poetry blogger, she has authored 23 books — spanning children's literature, inspirational fiction, historical narrative, and poetry — and built a loyal readership of thousands. Her work has been featured in Poetry Soup, Bajan Sun Magazine, and Write Like A Wizard.
A firm believer in community, Dr. Morant founded Literary Links, Reader's Cove, and Shout Out Ur Biz to provide authors, bloggers, and entrepreneurs the support and visibility they need to thrive. Today, she channels all of this experience as a second-grade classroom teacher in Atlanta, Georgia, shaping young readers and writers every day.
Dr. Morant speaks on literacy, faith, the self-publishing journey, resilience, and walking boldly in your God-given purpose. She is available for school visits, women's conferences, author panels, church events, and educator professional development.
